A MUTTERING WIND!
A MUTTERING WIND!
I was breeze and had
full of life:
Had a dance to the
tunes of sweetest scents,
Kissed the lovely
buds and beautiful blossoms around,
Rested upon the
chasing waves and buzzing leaves,
Passed through bleakest
hills and weakest shells,
Lifted ploughing
hopes and plucking faiths!
I was a gentle wind
and had electrifying sound:
Responded soulfully to
the giggles of infants,
Participated in the evocative
songs of laboring peasants,
Administered solemnly
the rustles of green clothed plants,
Acknowledged the bows
of towering trees,
Appreciated the flight
of the lightminded butterflies!
Initiated hearts and
left them palpable:
Taken motivation from
the breathing ants,
Spoken into the ears
of the waking-up hens,
Shaken the branches
and supplied elegance to them,
Subsidized the
broken leaves with an invisible wing,
Carried a musical
string to be tuned on like an uncrowned king!
Had no faith in
bitten paths:
Wasn’t egoistic to exhibit
an impartial wroth,
Had no regrets about
the shielding walls,
Was gifted to transcend
them with colourless faith,
Had been a reliable
vehicle to bringdown the baby raindrops,
Was a sociable
companion to the unaccompanied dew girls!
Now I am made to while
away with suffocation:
Deprived of an oxygen
that fired up the righteous revolutions,
Sucked out of a
jubilation which civilized the cultured celebration,
Had petals across to
wipe my tears,
Now not a bird is found
to ventilate my fears,
With my presents I
couldn’t trace anyone to be a pantheon lawyer!
The load I had was
enriched by love:
The chillness that I
possessed was contributed by cordiality,
My agility had been vigilantly
watched over by humanity,
The rigidity that I
didn’t have was ensured by profoundest solidarity,
Distilling my purity
would lead up to creative sterility,
If I am made to face
rarity, t he life on earth will embrace only invalidity!
Dr. U. Mahendran.
very good imagination reflecting the current situation could have been more emphatic. In terms of the way we are polluting the air and also not only sucking oxygen out of it, but also by putting more and more carbon monoxide, chloro carbon et cetera. Very good poem
